Eat a high-fiber breakfast cereal. Most adults get about half of the fiber they need every day. It has been proven that fiber helps reduce cholesterol, keeps it regular and satisfies it (so you can avoid overeating), and breakfast is the best time to drink it. Look for a cereal that has at least 3-5 grams of fiber per serving (a whole grain as the first ingredient, such as whole wheat, is a good indication that it is rich in fiber). Not ready to change? Go half with your standard cereal.

Designate a fruit bowl. Place your fruit bowl in a central location on the counter and fill it with seven pieces of fruit (washed) at the beginning of the week. Take one every day for snack time or on the way to the door to go to work. Suddenly, you get more vitamins, fiberfill and nutrients to fight diseases every day.

Buy a vegetable prepared without complications every week. Look in the products section of your store for options such as pre-washed / pre-cut Brussels sprouts, green salad salads, spiral zucchini and sweet potatoes, and chopped and seasoned butternut squash. Many people skip vegetables because they fear preparation. So make it easy for you. Having at least one easy vegetarian side can inspire you to buy and eat vegetables more frequently.

The American Heart Association says everyone should get fish at least twice a week to get all the benefits for heart health, therefore, bonus points for adding tuna to a salad or ordering salmon for lunch on another day as well. Use a jug of water. You probably have one for parties that is collecting dust in the closet, right? It turns out that it is a secret weapon: rinse it and fill it with water and ice (and maybe some pretty slices of lemon, lime or orange). Place it on your desk or kitchen counter and pour all day. Staying hydrated is good for every cell in your body, and drinking water means you’re not drinking soda or other sweetened things.
